It is the story that no one wants to hear, especially in a scenario like this.
Fawziyah Javed had been looking forward to celebrating her 32nd birthday as well as a potential pregnancy when she plummeted 800ft to her death in Edinburgh.
This young lady had been visiting Arthur’s Seat with her husband to celebrate her birthday when this incident is believed to have happened.
Upon police investigation, a 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with this incident and is expected to appear at the Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
The incident is also said to have taken place around 9pm and despite the best efforts of police and paramedics, they were unable to help. The police are currently treating the incident as suspicious.
Ms Javed had been living a normal and happy life until this unfortunate incident. She had just gotten married in December and had even gathered with friends and family to celebrate the occasion a few days ago. It was shortly after this celebration that she and her husband decided to take the train to Scotland.
Police Scotland confirmed that a man had been arrested as part of their enquiries. A spokesperson said: “We received a report that a woman had fallen from Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh, around 9pm on Thursday.
“The 31-year-old woman died at the scene a short time later and her death is being treated as suspicious. A 27-year-old man has been arrested and inquiries are ongoing.”
Ms Javed worked as an employment lawyer for a firm in Leeds and is also known to have been a volunteer coordinator with a soup kitchen for the homeless in Leeds.
While the circumstances of here death are unclear at the moment, the circumstances of her life becoming clearer each day as more and more people remember her for the kindness she brought into the world.
