It is not often that someone dreams of pursuing a career of becoming a world-famous footballer. However, what is more uncommon and likely a more complex issue is having to do some with a father who is one of the most well-known individuals and sportsmen in the world.
David Beckham’s son, Romeo Beckham, had long been working on his hopes of becoming a great footballer. This past week however his dream got a little closer as he was able to sign his first professional football contract in the United States.
With his signing to the USL League One side Fort Lauderdale, there is now a chance to make his way up to the big leagues.
As he enters into the league, he is already set to make his debut against the Chattanooga Red Wolves SC this weekend.
It is believed that Romeo can play a variety of positions on the field and has been training with Inter Miami for several weeks as well.
With the full support of his parents, Romeo hopes to deliver this best in order to follow in the footsteps of his famous father.
Romeo also posted a picture of him at training with Fort Lauderdale, writing:” Follow your dreams”. His mum Victoria Beckham then added: “We are so proud of you Romeo x.”
The latest Beckham on the field is expected to be a part of the third division side that operates as the reserve team for Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Inter Miami, co-owned by Beckham senior.
To say the least, it is no simple matter to be able to put in the hours and hard work needed to become a football player at a school level, but to be able to do so at such a high level at a young age speaks volumes of the potential the younger Beckham has.
