The twenty-year-old Rapper, whose real name is Shandler Beaubien, from Miami was fatally shot on Friday the fourteenth of January, and according to media outlets in South Florida, Wavy was shot while he was driving a vehicle.
Local police reports and the Miami Herald, states that the rapper was ambushed in the West Kendall area of Miami-Dade County, citing “multiple law-enforcement sources.” Shandler was gunned down near the Zoo Miami, as quoted in the newspaper.
But a brink of hope to Beaubien’s family and friends as Beaubien fights for his life and still hasn’t been officially confirmed to be dead by the Miami – Dade Police Department. WPLG-TV reported that Quality Control, a record label, had confirmed that the man driving a four-door Toyota Camry was indeed Beaubien.
Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, a spokesperson with the Miami-Dade Police Department, stated “In the front seat, there was a 1-year-old child in a car seat that easily could have been struck by gunfire and taken his life,”
“And as a matter of fact, his birthday is today.” Was one chilling comment made by Detective Alvaro?
The second child, however, a 5-year-old, in the back seat of Beaubien’s Camry was not injured.
The Herald reported that the gunman, driving a four-door Lexus, pulled up against the Camry and opened fire on Beaubien and the two children inside.
Beaubien went viral when his song, “M.I.A.M.I (murder is a major issue)” got over 200,000 views on YouTube, the song video showed Beaubien, waving a pistol, and a staged crime scene and actual footage of Miami-Dade police officers at real-life shooting scenes, this was reported by the Herald.
