Super Bowl LVI (that is, the 56th Super Bowl) was held in SoFi stadium in California on February 13th. Super Bowls are always held on a Sunday. This year’s Super Bowl was between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams. Fun fact; SoFi stadium is the home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. We also saw Tom Brady retiring after 22 seasons and 7 Super Bowl wins, one of which was last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the earlier ones with the New England Patriots.
In the first half, the Cincinnati Bengals won the toss and the Rams got to receive the ball at first. In their first play, the Bengals gained 8 yards and the drive was derailed after a sack by Trey Hendrickson, a football defensive back for the Bengals. Another highlight was when Matthew Stafford, a Bengals quarterback ran nine yards and hit Cooper Kupp. a wide receiver for the Rams, in the flat, but it was unsuccessful because it led to Kupp shedding four tacklers and gaining 22 yards. We also saw Odell Beckham Jr. making a huge comeback when he made an outstanding catch against the great defense of Bengals cornerback Mike Hilton. Rookie of the year, Ja’Marr Chase hauled the ball in with one hand at the four-yard line.
In the second half, the Bengals had the lead. After Burrow made a deep pass to Higgins who was cornered by Ramsey from the Rams, he caught the pass uncontested as Ramsey fell down. Replays showed that Higgins had pulled Ramsey’s facemask, but no one gave a red flag penalty for that and the Bengals got a 17-13 lead. The Rams came up when Stafford made a touchdown pass to Kupp. Lineman Aaron Donald and linebacker Von Miller led the defense and forced Bengals quarterback Burrow’s final fourth-down pass to go incomplete, which made the Rams win their first-ever Super Bowl with a score of 23-20.
The match between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles match was such a suspenseful and amazing match to watch with ups and downs from both sides. It was in the last minute only that people could see who would win. Cooper Kupp was voted as the MVP with 2 touchdowns and 8 receptions as well as a carry for 7 yards, which was a feat.
As the world knows by now, there is a Russian Militia near the borders of Ukraine.
