After breaking a protection order preventing contact with Michelle Penticost, the fiancée of Katie Price’s ex-husband Kieran Hayler, she escaped going to jail.

An 18-month community order with 150 hours of unpaid work and an additional 20 hours for violating a suspended sentence for driving-related offences was handed down to the 44-year-old former beauty model.

Price did not express any emotion when the verdict was read, but she did smile briefly as she departed the dock. She appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Friday morning for sentence after entering a guilty plea to violating a restraining order last month. The reality TV star and mother of five texted Mr. Hayler used “very rude and inflammatory” language to disparage her fiancé.

A five-year restraining order was issued against her on June 3, 2019, at Horsham Magistrates’ Court, and she was also fined £415 for hurling a foul-mouthed “tirade of abuse” at Ms. Penticost during an argument in a school playground. The text was reportedly written after Price learned about Ms. Penticost’s Instagram post about how she has been treated unfairly by others and how to handle it. According to Ms. Penticost, the prosecution claims that the post had nothing to do with Price. The phrase “inform your,” which Price used in an oblique attempt to contact Ms. Penticost, was what the court heard caused the offence to be committed.

A five-year prison sentence is the maximum penalty for violating a protective order, such as a restraining order. Ms. Penticost stated in a victim impact statement given in court that Price’s violation of the restraining order had a “devastating effect” on her mental health. “What Katie has done has had a very unpleasant effect, and I feel scared and intimidated,” she stated. Price’s attorney, Nicholas Hamblin, stated that although his client had admitted to the violation, she had believed the restraining order “operated both ways” and had been mistaken. She had “over-reacted as she believed she was being criticized,” he claimed, adding that there had been a hint of “provocation.” He continued, “She has displayed regret and acknowledges an indirect breach.

The judge cautioned the TV personality and businesswoman last month, just before the proceedings came to a close, that she was “in very severe danger of going to prison,” adding, “I truly hope I don’t see you here again.” “In my opinion, this offence was committed out of rage,” Judge Stephen Mooney told Price today. “In my judgement, balancing the aggravating and mitigating considerations, the appropriate penalty is a medium-level community order,” the judge said. “The remarks you used were highly offensive and provocative, thus the violation cannot be regarded small.” Moreover, Price was required to pay £1,500 in court expenses.
