The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has refused to issue a restraining order preventing protesters from entering the areas close to the President’s official residence in Fort, Colombo.
The Attorney General had sought a restraining order against protesters who are scheduled to hold anti-government protests tomorrow (08) and on Saturday (09).
A group of Attorneys, including the President of the BAR Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) appeared for the protesters when the matter was taken up for hearing today.
Meanwhile, a court order issued yesterday (06) preventing protestors from entering Olcott Mawatha in Pettah has been revised.
The new court order only permits the Clergy to protest in the area.
