Dhammika Perera calls on Ranil to resign as Finance Minister
Investment Promotion Minister Dammika Perera recently stated that Ranil Wickramasinghe should resign from the posts of Finance Minister and Prime Minister.
His statement was issued a few days after Finance Minister Wickramasinghe submitted a proposal to cabinet to recover tax dues owed by casino operators and to bring in legislative amendments to give effect to proposed tax increases. Mr Dhammika Perera himself owns a succesful casino empire in the country.
In an address to the media earlier today, Mr Perera stated that Ranil Wickramasinghe’s actions had caused all projects that could bring in dollars to the country to be halted. According to Mr Perera, the Prime Minister has no plans for the cash flow of the country, and he doesn’t have a plan to feed the people in the country or a plan to bring in dollars to the country.
