Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the president of Sri Lanka, claimed that he and Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, had a very fruitful phone call.
The President posted on Twitter, “While thanking him for all the assistance provided by his administration to overcome the difficulties of the past, I asked an offer of loan support to import fuel to Sri Lanka in order to overcome the current economic difficulties.”
Additionally, President Rajapaksa has asked for Aeroflot operations in Sri Lanka to be resumed.
The President tweeted, “We unanimously agreed that enhancing bilateral ties in areas like tourism, trade, & culture was vital in reaffirming the affinity our two nations cherish.
A court order has been obtained by Colombo Fort Police to prevent a demonstration that will be held today at Olcott Mawatha in Colombo by a group of Buddhist monks and other religious leaders (07). The court order also forbids them from impeding or annoying the general public, according to the police.
