A video that was said to show the former kickboxer beating up a woman made him famous in 2016. Because of the controversy it caused, he was kicked off the reality show Big Brother.

Following this, he gained internet attention and was eventually banned from Twitter for suggesting that female victims of sexual assault should “take responsibility” for their experiences. At the time his account was deleted, he had amassed 4.7 million followers on Instagram. In the previous month, in June, there were approximately one million followers, but since then, that number has significantly increased.

The kickboxing star was removed from its platforms for breaking its regulations on harmful organizations and people, but did not disclose any further specifics. Mr. Tate claimed at the time of his eviction from Big Brother that the video in question had been doctored, describing it as “a pure fake attempting to make me seem terrible.” Regarding the ban from Meta, he has not provided any comments as of yet.
