Stephen Tompkinson charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm

According to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), on August 10, a 56-year-old man who is famous for playing the lead role of the titular investigator in the ITV crime series DCI Banks appeared before judges in Newcastle.

During the hearing, Mr. Tompkinson, who is from Beech Grove in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, entered a not guilty plea to the charge against him. The 7th of September is the day set for his next appearance in Newcastle Crown Court.

 

The actor, who was born in Stockton-on-Tees, has appeared in a number of television shows, including the Channel 4 comedy series Drop the Dead Donkey and the BBC drama Ballykissangel. He also worked with Robson Green in the ITV show Grafters and with Ewan McGregor and Tara Fitzgerald in the movie Braced Off.
