At Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, Joseph Watts from Hackney pleaded guilty to assault by beating after attacking Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and throwing four coins onto the pitch during a Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on 15 January. Ramsdale, who was instrumental in securing Arsenal’s 2-0 win, was celebrating the victory and collecting his belongings from behind the goal when he was attacked. Watts, a Tottenham fan, also pleaded guilty to throwing a missile onto a football playing area and going on to an area adjacent to a playing area. Tottenham immediately banned the fan, and both the Professional Footballers’ Association and the Football Association condemned the incident.
According to recent news, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has indicated that the IMF Extended Fund Facility is expected to be obtained in March. In addition, he stated that bank interest rate reduction is under consideration in light of the gradual decrease in inflation.
