Luxshare to aid development of Apple’s AR device with Foxconn and Sony

Apple’s Chinese manufacturer, Luxshare Precision Industry, will reportedly assist in developing the tech giant’s long-awaited augmented reality (AR) device, according to Nikkei Asia. The company has taken over the AR team previously owned by Taiwan’s Pegatron, which helped Apple develop the device. The project is also said to be receiving support from Foxconn and two of Apple’s key suppliers, Sony and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing. The AR headset is anticipated to be launched at Apple’s spring event this year and will reportedly retail at around $3,000. None of the companies involved in the development of the device have commented on the reports.
