Former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has accused journalist Isabel Oakeshott of a breach of trust after she leaked his WhatsApp messages. Oakeshott defended the release of the messages, arguing that it was in the national interest. The Telegraph has obtained over 100,000 WhatsApp messages from Hancock’s time as health secretary during the pandemic, and began publishing them this week. Hancock denies sending a “menacing” message to Oakeshott over the leak and claims the messages were released to suit an anti-lockdown agenda.
