TikTok is developing a parental control tool that will allow parents to restrict their teens from accessing content containing certain words or hashtags on the app. The tool is being developed as part of the company’s efforts to improve its image amidst concerns over its proximity to the Chinese government and data privacy. The app is also introducing new features to limit the amount of time users spend on the app, with accounts belonging to users under 18 automatically having a daily time limit of one hour. Parents will be able to set custom time limits for their teens’ TikTok usage.
