Renowned architect Rafael Viñoly dies aged 78

Renowned Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly has passed away at the age of 78, leaving behind a legacy of over 600 distinctive and timeless designs around the world. Viñoly’s most notable works include London’s Walkie Talkie building. His death was announced by his son, who called him a visionary and stated that he would be missed by all whose lives he touched through his work. Born in Montevideo in 1944, Viñoly established his eponymous practice in New York after emigrating to the United States from Argentina with his family due to the military junta in the country.
