A group of friends embarked on a journey to the most remote pub in mainland Britain, the Old Forge, which sits in the village of Inverie on the southern coast of the Knoydart peninsula. Accessible only by sea ferry or a two-day, 18-mile hike across the Scottish Highlands, the pub is a rite of passage for the outdoors community. The Knoydart peninsula is remote and inaccessible, with no mobile phone signal, unconnected roads, and a population density similar to that of Alaska. After a community buyout in March 2022, most residents of Inverie now own a stake in the Old Forge, which had lost its legendary status and community spirit in the decade prior.
