A rare weather event known as a “snow tornado” was spotted by a crofter in Shetland. Michael Peterson witnessed the phenomenon while feeding his sheep after a hailstorm on Tuesday. The Arctic blast that has hit many parts of Scotland has led to school closures in Shetland, Aberdeenshire and Highland.
