The Telugu-language film song “Naatu Naatu” from the hit Indian film RRR has made history by becoming the first Indian film song to win an Oscar for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards, beating strong competitors like Lady Gaga and Rihanna. The song’s catchy tempo and choreography has captivated audiences worldwide, and it had previously won a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice award in January. India also won a second Oscar in the Best Documentary Short film category for The Elephant Whisperers, which explores the bond between a couple and an injured baby elephant.
