Rail strikes in UK called off

Rail strikes planned for March and April by the RMT union have been called off after members agreed to a pay deal from Network Rail. RMT members at 14 train companies were set to walk out on 30 March and 1 April. The Rail Delivery Group (RDG), which represents train companies, welcomed the move and said it was now focused on “working constructively towards a settlement to this dispute”. However, the RMT made clear that the dispute had not ended and it would re-ballot members when the current mandate runs out in mid-May.
