Nintendo has finally released a 10-minute gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” giving fans a glimpse into what the game has to offer. Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that the game has changed the world “in many ways,” including the addition of sky islands, which can be reached by Link through his new “recall” power. The gameplay trailer also showcases Link’s new “ascend” power, which allows him to pass through ceilings in a path of twisting turquoise light.
Other new powers include “fuse,” which lets Link combine two objects to use as a unique weapon, and “ultrahand,” which is used to construct vehicles seen in previous trailers. Fans are particularly excited about the versatility of the “fuse” power, which allows Link to attach almost anything to anything to improve and alter its qualities. The trailer also confirms the presence of the Zonai, a prehistoric tribe in the Zelda universe whose ruins dot Hyrule.
The trailer also reveals breaking weapons for realism and a fresh enemy, the Construct, which looks like a stony robot. Fans are already theorizing about the new features, including homing arrows that can be created by fusing arrows with squishy yellow Keese Eyeballs.
Overall, the trailer provides fans with a much broader idea of what to expect from the game, and it’s clear that the gameplay will be even more fantastic than its predecessor, “Breath of the Wild.” With the game set to release on May 12 for the Nintendo Switch, fans are eagerly anticipating more information from Nintendo.
