LNER is to launch a daily rail service between London and Edinburgh to mark the coronation of King Charles III. Starting on May 6, LNER's 11:00 train from King's Cross to Edinburgh Waverley will be known as the Carolean Express, to coincide with the coronation day. UK supermarkets have not lowered their prices despite a drop in global wholesale food prices, leading to inflation remaining higher than expected. The British Retail Consortium said there could be a three to nine-month lag before seeing price falls in stores. Inflation fell to 10.1% in the year to March from 10.4% in February, but still remained high due to food prices rising at their fastest rate in 45 years.
